Strengths: Good batteries for cheap prices. BP511a for my Canon 40D. $23.99 for a two pack. 20MAH. I go a good long time between battery changes.

I have never had a problem with these batteries buying from www.sterlingtek.com They are on the Price grabber list. My 40D just sips the power. I also get my rechargable batteries there. A packake of 4 2700MAH NIMH for $9.99. Replacement chargers are there also. I have recommended them to many and all have been satisfied.

I purchased three of these from Sterlingtek and none of them have dissappointed me. I use these for both my external batter grip or just in my EOS 5D. Strongly recommended. They charge up fast with the Canon charger and last longer than my original Canon batteries (I have two of them).

Bought this battery from Amazon.com. Capacity 1390mAh. Much more expensive than the generic/aftermarket batteries (higher mAh too), but guaranteed compatibility and will not void manufacturer warranty by using aftermarket batteries.

I have seen a noticable increase in the number of shots I can take with this battery versus the BP-511 that came with my camera. The increased life comes in handy when I am away from power on a shoot.

Purchased as an extra battery for my digital rebel. Can't say that I noticed more performance than original battery with the camera. The price for the BP-511A was cheaper that the BP-511.

Strengths: An original canon battery for a canon camera is always an advantage. It lasts longer than the generic batteries and you are assured of its quality.

Weakness: A little bit expensive.

I bought a generic battery a few months ago mainly because it was cheaper. But i was only able to use it twice. Now it's not working anymore, and i just lost $20 dollars for it.

The use of a Canon battery removes any concern with compatibility and capacity. The clever cut-out on the cover allows it to be oriented in such a way that the color blue shows through, which could be used as a charged status indicator of back-up batteries.

I got this as an extra battery for my camera, and I'm more or less satified. It lasts a little longer than the older model BP-511, since it is 1390mAh compared to the old model's 1100mAh. Canon Lithium Ion Camcorder Battery

Strengths: Takes a charge quickly. Only thing that's compatible with my Canon camera.

Weakness: Short life compared to other batteries. Not a great value for $60 -- and you'll need at least two.

This battery lasts a bit longer than tha BP-511 it replaces, but only powers my Canon Powershot Pro 1 for 2-3 hours before pooping out. Other camera batteries last twice this long. Well built, but very expensive for mediocre performance.

I needed a replacement battery for my Canon s50 when the old battery died, and this battery does a fine job of keeping my camera powered. My only complaint is that the battery life seems short, but I have noticed this problem with my old battery as well. The price was excellent.
