Circular polarization has the same pictorial effect as linear polarization, but allows for proper exposure metering and/or autofocus distance settings. MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) by B+W is not only an extraordinarily effective multiple layer coating, it is also harder than glass, so that it protects filters from scratches (for instance when cleaning the filters), and it is also water and dirt repellent, thus facilitating filter maintenance. B+W 77mm Polarizing Filter FilterStrengths: Pretty darn solid polarizing filter. Weakness: Cost, some uneveness. I use this filter on top of the standard B+W UV filter on my 24-70 f/2.8L lens. Great Filter
Strengths: Good Optical Quality
Weakness: Delicate, Pricey, Lens Cap
This is a great circular polarizer (CP). Unlike what the previous reviewer said, all wide angle lenses will show that effect with any CP. The real problem with this is the horrible cap. It is loose and falls off easily. What's left after it falls off is a very expensive piece of glass to get scratched.
