Very nice bounce for 580EX

Strengths: 1. Really nice build 2. Fits perfectly

Weakness: A little pricy for a piece of plastic

This is pretty much the most standard bounce cover that is on the market for my canon 580EX flash. It diffuses the light and makes the light not too "hard" when shooting portraits. When using, there is only one step to do: Put it on and that's it! It's very easy to do and it's certainly faster than any other diffusers in the market that requires the elastic bands wrapping or things like that....

OM-EY Omni-Bounce for Canon 580EX

Strengths: Easy to use. Efficient for in-door use

Weakness: cheap feel

This is a must have for 580EX. Good diffusion for in-door use if bounce is not possible. Not expensive comparing to the flash. But the cheap plastic costs $12.

Might work for you

Strengths: Creates more flattering flash photos

Weakness: Bounce flash plus translucency drastically decreases flash output

Direct flash from your Canon 580EX can cause glaring, harsh photos. Many people tend to use their flash in the bounce mode in order to get a more spread-out light source. This product, a white semi-translucent piece of plastic that fits over the head of the 580EX, will likewise spread out the light. The manufacturer recommends using the device in bounce mode. This can create very nice flash...

Simple & Effective

Strengths: Pleasing softer pictures. Easy to carry and use.

Weakness: Overpriced. Drains your battery much quicker

The light disperses more evenly and is less harsh on the subject. The diffuser gives pictures softer and more natural look. It is sturdy, very light weight and easy to pack. My only complaint is, it reduces your battery life and it takes the flash much longer to fully charge after each shot.

Sto-fen #OM-EY Omni-Bounce for Canon 580EX -...

Strengths: Easy install, sturdy plastic, softens shadows

Weakness: Steep cost

The diffuser is probably one of the more important accessories once you have the flash. The Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce does the job well. Tends to drain batteries quickly and you need to adjust the flash settings a bit but otherwise it is ok. It is cheaper than getting the LightSphere and it is more portable, but I guess still more expensive than getting a generic plastic diffuser.

Omni-bounce a must!

Strengths: Diffused lighting that will help your photos

Weakness: Only fits one specific Speedlite, Price

Great Product! If your going to spend houndred or most likely thousands of buck on a camera and flash you really need to get one of these things. Greatly improves quality of your photos, and reduces glare. I wish it could fit on a 420 as well and cost alittle less, but all in all you need this product in your bag.

Excelent Accesory

Strengths: Softens flash and eliminates most shadows

Weakness: Decreases battery life

This is a great accessory to have. Works great to soften flash in areas where a flash is needed but there is no ceiling or a high ceiling to bounce the flash off.

excellant accesory to your canon 580ex

Strengths: sturdy plastic...softens the image, and pictures look more natural, not harsh.

Weakness: none really.

this is a really nice add-on for your flash. it softens the image and you dont have to worry about creating a dark shadow before the subject you're shooting at. the tone is more natural. overall, if you dont want to get a bracket to hook up the flah above the camera, then this is something you should consider getting..you may similiar effect, and for far cheaper price
